New Technology
Dentistry has come off age with the help of modern technology and at The Croft Dental Centre we have added state of the art hi-tech equipment. This provides both you as the patient and the dentist with effective and efficient treatment and diagnosis.
Cerec
We are very proud to offer our patient's computer supported ceramic restoration making use of CAD-CAM technology. As one of the first dental surgeries in the country to install this hi-tech equipment, our dentists have immense experience in the use of this innovation. Using CEREC Ceramics your dentist will be able to take 3D computer images and produce treatments whilst you wait.
We are particularly interested in providing you with the best possible care using the latest technology and treatment. Gone are the days when the only way of solving overcrowding teeth, for example, was with extraction. Today we provide treatment that in most cases avoids the trauma and irreversible step of extraction, particularly on young patients.
At The Croft Dental Centre we make great use of CEREC ceramics with good reason.
Longevity - Many studies on CEREC demonstrate that these restorations have the same survival rate as gold.

Conservative treatment
The tooth structure can be preserved in two ways: Firstly, cusps do not have to be included in the restoration as the adhesive bonding of CEREC inlays and, secondly, in cases where a crown would usually have been used a CEREC onlay offers a more structure preserving alternative.
Biocompatible treatment
The biocompatability of ceramic material has been recognised worldwide and is appreciated by patients.
Dental X-rays
We also offer the latest use of digital X-rays which provide us with instant images and exceptionally low risk radiation. These images are displayed immediately onto the workstation within the surgery which you can view with your dentist.
Dental X-rays are pictures of the teeth, bones and surrounding soft tissues to screen for and help identify problems with the teeth, mouth and jaw. X-ray pictures can show cavities, hidden dental structures (such as wisdom teeth), and bone loss that cannot be seen during a visual examination. Dental x-rays can be read immediately, so results are available a few minutes afterwards.
All our X-rays are digital and produce a very low dosage of radiation.
Bitewing X-rays
These show the upper and lower back teeth in a single view. They are used to detect decay between the teeth and to show how well the upper and lower teeth line up.
Periapical X-rays
These show the entire tooth, from the exposed crown to the end of the root and the bones that support the tooth.
Occlusal X-rays
These show the roof or floor of the mouth and are used to detect the presence of extra teeth, teeth that have not yet broken through the gums, jaw fractures, a cleft in the roof of the mouth, cysts, abscesses or growth.
Panoramic X-rays
These X-rays provide a broad view of the jaws, teeth, sinuses, nasal area and temporomandibular (jaw) joints. |
